Tuition

We always employ trained and experienced teachers who enjoy the holiday course teaching style. Our lessons are designed for each individual tour, according to the language needs of the students. The students will learn English they can use in their Homestay accommodation and during the afternoon activities.

Activities

Afternoon activities can be Educational, Cultural and Adventurous ....and they're full of FUN! We have local inexpensive trips as well as trips to Theme Parks and other parts of Queensland. We can arrange any activity you want. Volunteering, company visits or special sports such as scuba diving. You name it, we can do it!

Homestay Accommodation

All our Homestay Families have been interviewed by Shafston staff and their homes inspected to make sure they are clean and comfortable. All Homestay Families must have a police check before being registered with Shafston. We select families who show an interest in other cultures and who enjoy communicating with international visitors.

Students can stay with their friend in the Homestay or they can share with another international student.  We recommend students with a low level of English stay with a friend so they can help each other in communicating with the Homestay family.  Higher level students can share with another international student and they can practise their English together.

Homestay families provide;

  • 3 meals per day
  • Transportation to and from the college
  • A warm and friendly environment where they will involve the student in the family through communication and friendship

Shafston University Mansions Accommodation

Our Mansions accommodation is perfect for the chaperones, teachers, parents and other accompanying adults. Self-contained, Twin Share or Private rooms located on-campus are available for students over 18 (if unaccompanied) and allow access to full use of the Gymnasium and Common Room.  Meals can be also included from Monday to Friday if requested.

'Summer Camp' for Individuals

Shafston 'Summer Camp' is designed for individual students wishing to undertake English tuition and be involved in a range of cultural, social and recreational activities. The Summer Camp is open every year in January, February, July and August. Please contact Shafston Study Tours for further information.
